NORTHERN IRELAND GIRLS TO TAKE ON FRANCE
THE Northern Ireland senior women recommence their
World Cup qualifying campaign with a double header
against France. The away game is in Bolougne sur
Mer tomorrow (Saturday March 27), with Windsor Park
hosting the home game on Wednesday March 31, kick-off
7.45pm.
The girls won their first game in the campaign in
October 1-0 away to Croatia with a goal from Rachel
Furness; and were unlucky to lose their second game
1-0 at home to Iceland.
“These are two massive games for the girls,
but it is great for them to have the opportunity
to play against a top side like France who are currently
ranked 9th in the world,” said National Women’s
Coach, Alfie Wylie. “It will be a big challenge,
but we hope to gain a lot of experience and learn
a lot from the games.”
The game against France at Windsor Park on March
31 is without doubt, one of the most important dates
in Northern Ireland senior women’s football
– because this will be first time that the
senior team will have played at the national stadium.
“I’m delighted for the girls, for getting
an opportunity like this and excited, about the
prospect of playing at Windsor Park,” said
Alfie. “There’s also an element of pride
in it as an international coach, watching his side
play in such a venue. And I would call upon football
supporters across Northern Ireland to come along
to the game and support the girls.”
Admission to the game is £2 and members of
the Irish FA's Official Supporters Schemes get in
for free on production of their membership card
- so make sure you come along and support the Northern
Ireland girls when they take on France at Windsor
Park on Wednesday March 31, kick-off 7.45pm

Monday, 12 April 2010 due to the Easter Holiday.
All members are reminded that their annual Subs
have to be paid by that meeting, so don’t
say you haven’t been warned. The Cub will
also be organising a Fund Raising Ballot shortly
and would be very grateful for the donation of any
prizes.

March, 2010
At the last meeting of the Bangor NISC held on Monday,
8 March 2010, it was decided that Slovenia would
be nominated as the 2010 Club Trip. Many members
have already booked flights, mostly through neighbouring
Austria. When final numbers are established, the
Club will be organising a Hotel, probably in Ljubljana,
and coach transfers if practical. All members who
have booked are asked to inform the Secretary of
their travel plans, preferably at the next meeting.
Looking to next year, it is likely that Estonia
will be the 2011 Club trip.

February, 2010
Over 60 were in attendance when the Bangor
NISC held its 6th. AGM in the CD Club on Victoria
Road in downtown Bangor. Quite a bit of business
was conducted, including several Rule Changes designed
to tighten up the running of the Club.
There was also a lengthy debate about the destinations
of the Club Trips in the Euro 2012 campaign and
the members will have a lot of deciding to do before
the next meeting when the decision will be made.
Just for the record, the choice is between Italy,
Serbia, Slovenia, Estonia and the Faroe Islands
– should be interesting
