Amateur League side Abbey Villa, from Millisle, completed a successful year, by being crowned the first winners of the Umbro Junior Team of the year winners.

During the year they won the Border Cup and this was followed by an Irish Cup victory over Irish league 1st. Division side Banbridge Town.

Their joint management team of Mark and Graham Bailie, also assisted by Rodney Ferris and Michael Sandford are all prominent members of the Bangor NISC.
