December 2008
The clock is ticking down to the New Year. All members
should note that the AGM (Annual general meeting) will take
place in February at a date and time to be decided.
There is also likely to be a meeting in early January to finalise
arrangements for the San Marino Club Trip and all monies will
have to be paid by then.
Talking of money, any members with outstanding debt should note
that Wednesday, 31 December marks the end of the Financial Year
and all outstanding debts should be cleared by then or else
their names will appear in the “Role of Dishonour”
that will be published for the AGM.
On behalf of the Committee, the webmaster would like to wish
all the members a happy and prosperous New Year.
16 December 2008
Several members of the Bangor NISC have ties with Millisle
based Amateur league Club Abbey Villa, including Graham and
Mark Bailie who are joint managers. So congratulations are in
order for the club winning the 2008 Umbro Junior Team of the
Year Award. A feature page has been created including the article
that appeared in the Daily Mirror and this can be found by following
the link on the Features Page
or by clicking
here.

Some of our members nearly had a good photograph of
them appearing in the Belfast Telegraph. Unfortunately, a caption
got in the way. See the Hungary
page.
21
November, 2008
The only good thing about the other night is that some
of the members got their picture in the Telegraph. The bad thing
was that some of their faces were covered by a caption. It will
be scanned in and upload shortly.

Yet more photos from Jim for the Slovenia
and San Marino pages.
And still no sightings of the flag !
19
October, 2008
Thanks to Jim for sending another photo in for the
San Marino match page. Pity
there's not many more Lord Lichfields out there.
17
October 2008
Did anyone see the flag at Windsor Park last Wednesday?
In fact, has anyone seen the flag lately? Here’s a reminder
of what it looks like . . .

September 2008
As part of the series of members being pictured with
famous people, some photos have been added to the
"Who's That With . . " page.
Also a couple of historical photos have come to light from the
away match against the Czech
Republic in 2001. Michael Hughes was made captain for the
night to mark his 50th. Cap, but more importantly, it was the
apparently first time that Northern Ireland had a mascot from
here for an away match. Anyone recognize the innocent looking
mascot who's now a full member of the Bangor NISC ?
10
September 2008
A good number of Club members had an enjoyable afternoon
in Belfast before the match against the Czech republic and this
included meeting up with some visiting
fans.
A point was gained from the top seed in the group and now it's
on to Slovenia. This match has been changed to Maribor which
is about two hours from Ljubljana.
9

August 2008
Every body got back from bonnie Scotland in one piece. A few
photos have been added in the Scotland
matchday page. If anyone else took photos, please send them
in to the webmaster.

15
August 2008
The away friendly to Scotland is just around the corner
and over 100 members and guests from the Bangor NISC will be
in attendance.
About half of these will be making their own way over and the
other half will be just going over for the match on a Club Coach.
This will be setting off from New Street in Donaghadee at 10:30
am and will be making two stops along the Ring Road in Bangor
(Bloomfield Shopping Centre & Clandeboye Retail Park), as
well as other pick-ups at Marino and Sydenham by-pass.
The party will be sailing Larne to Troon and have their own
coach on the other side. Arrival time in Glasgow should be around
4:00 pm and the coach will be departing for Troon immediately
after the match, which has a 8:00 pm kick-off.
3
August 2008
The next meeting of Bangor NISC takes place on Monday, 4 August
in Pickie Bowling Club, starting at 8:00. This will be a very
busy meeting as it is the first after the summer break and money
for away tickets has to be paid.
For the Scotland match on Wednesday 20 August, all those who have
booked tickets and those travelling on the day trip MUST pay £16
per ticket.
Also, anyone intending to travel to Slovakia for the away game
on Saturday, 6 September should note that the match has been moved
Slovan Bratislava's ground which is still within the city limits
of Bratislava. The capacity of this ground is 30,000, which means
that we should get all the tickets we need.
As the club will have to pay for the tickets by the next Amalgamation
of NI Supporters Clubs meeting on Tuesday, 12 August, a deposit
of £10 per ticket must be paid on Monday night when placing
an order.
Please also note that for all ticket purchases, members must provide
the names of the all the fans that they are purchasing tickets
for and the Supports Scheme membership number, if they have one,
to enable them to be credited with loyalty points.

One of our members recently travelled
to Cuba where he got his hands on more than a cigar.
15
June 2008
A senior member of the Club committee had a big birthday
lately but we do not intend to embarass him by announcing the
details. One of the main presents at his birthday
bash was a Northern ireland shirt. Anyway, his secret is safe.
15
June 2008
The Club is pleased to announce that it will have it's

timings will be announced in due course.

Some of the junior members of the club have were lucky enough
to get to the Nou Camp in Barcelona and had a good time. Photos
of thei trip have been added to the Look
Where I've Been page.
18
May 2008
It's good to note that some members actually do read this website
for it has been noticed that the wrong day was given for the next
meeting - 2 June is of course a Monday!
12
May 2008
Last Friday Saw the May meeting followed by an entertaining
Nite at the Riots, run by Jim Rainey. A good turnout had a great
time, rounded off by a dodgy Karaoke session. The success certainly
helped towards the Club’s Fund Raising efforts. Many thanks
also to Kevin Storey and Supreme Foods for the supper.
12
May 2008
Away trips over the next ten months were also discussed
at the meeting. Numbers are being finalised for the day trip to
the Scotland match in Hampden in August. Anyone still interested
should contact the club e-mail at bangor.nisc@btinternet.com
to arrange to pay their deposit before final numbers are agreed
with the travel company.
Some members are already making plans for Slovenia in October.
Contact the same club e-mail address if you want to know the plans.
Deposits are also being taken for the semi-official Club Trip
to San Marino next February
12
May 2008
The deadline for paying Annual Subs and the Committee
will meet shortly to formally confirm that those members who did
not reply to the Club Letter will no longer be considered part
of Bangor NISC.
13
April, 2008
As the first Monday in May is a Bank Holiday which would not be
suitable for a Club Meeting, the Bangor NISC have come up with
the novel idea of holding their May meeting prior to a fund raising
“Night at the Riots” scheduled for Friday, 9 May 2008.
The meeting will start at 7:00 pm sharp, followed by the entertainment
about 8:00 pm.
All senior members will be obliged to pay a subscription of £5,
but the good news is that all guests are free, so bring as many
as possible.
13
April, 2008
The Chairman of the South of England NISC, Jonny Blair has issued
an open invitation for any Bangor NISC members or friends to join
them in Brighton, East Sussex for a day out watching the FA Cup
Final on Saturday 17th May 2008.. There they will have their annual
FA Cup Final meeting.
The day out will involve an official meeting in an as yet un-named
bar by the beach, some FA Cup Final banter, sweepstakes, a beach
BBQ and Carryout, some beach football and turning Brighton into
a sea of green for the day.
Full details will be revealed in the coming weeks. It is important
to dress ridiculously in Northern Irish green and white for the
day and random items including inflatable crocodiles will be welcomed
to the meeting. Anyone interested should log onto the SOENISC
forum
23
March 2008
The buses for the Georgia match will leave Pickie Bowling
Club at 6:15. Members are reminded that these are free for members,
but visitors must pay £5 for the return trip.
23
March 2008
We have just been informed that Block Bookings for the
2010 World Cup campaign will be £160 for Kop / North Stand
Upper. Family Enclosure will be £110, however, there is
a chance that the IFA will charge adults with Family Enclosure
tickets the full £160.
Payment at the moment seems to be late April 2008. However, the
Amalgamation of Northern Ireland Supporters Club is trying to
get it extended until the end of June. The IFA for some reason
seem to want the full payment in one go which the Amalgamation
are against.
12
March 2008
At the Club Meeting on 10 March, Poland 2009 was selected
as the Club Trip for this campaign, as it was being held on a
weekend. Members also decided that the Club should also organise
for as many members as possible to travel to the away match in
San Marino in February 2009.
The Club Committee also met to discuss some disciplinary issues
and an announcement of the actions arising will be announced in
due course

February 2008
The postponed fourth Bangor NISC AGM was held on Monday,
11 February 2008 in the CD Club, Victoria Road, Bangor. Despite
the change of date, an impressive number of members turned up.
There were some significant changes to the structure and running
of the club including :
•
New Officers in the Management team.
• A tightened financial system to ensure that all monies
are paid in advance rather than arrears.
• The termination of the Direct Debit payment method for
Annual Subs.
• A reduction in the Annual Subs to £30 for Ordinary
members and £15 Concessions.
• The holding of some meetings on Mondays closer to match
days.
• A tightening of discipline regarding behaviour, non-attendance
at meetings and non-payment of dues.
• A more structured way of organising Club Trips, starting
hopefully with the San Marino match.
• The organisation of more social / fund raising evenings

Got it completely wrong with the predictions for the next
matches. Bulgaria are now the visitors on 6 February followed by
Georgia in March.
Also the fixtures for the 2010 qualifiers are being decided in Bratislava
this week, on the Wednesday, 16 January. 7
January 2008
The fixtures for the 2010 qualifiers will be decided at
a meeting in Bratislava (Slovakia) on the 16 or 18 January, depending
on which paper you read. 1
January 2008
Happy New Year from the Bangor NISC. Unfortunately, Northern Ireland
did not make it to the finals of the European championships this
year, so we’ll just pick ourselves up, dust ourselves down
and start all over again.
The draw for the 2010 World Cup Qualifiers means that all the away
matches are within relatively easy reach, which gives us an excuse
for at least one other Club Trip. The actual fixtures will be decided
some time this month so things should be clearer by the time the
Club AGM come around in February.
If any members have any suggestions as to how they would like to
see the Club or the website develop, please send us an e-mail with
your thoughts.
